We are only travelers but we can make massive changes that will effect the future.
For many we meet during our journeys, we set example.
All the little things can make a difference and it doesn’t mean big sacrifices when we’re on the road, but a different style and choices.
How?
- When choosing a car, go for electric one
- Get a smaller car or share yours with friends
- Consider the most environment friendly transport: walking and riding a bicycle
- Taking trains rather than planes
- When finding a place to stay, choose eco-lodges and eco-hotels
- If your hotel sheets and towels are clean, use them again rather then asking for fresh ones
- Yes, you paid for your hotel room and all inclusive but try not to waste water or electricity by switching or turning down the lights and heating when leaving the room
- Take short showers
- Throw rubbish into rubbish bins. Especially when traveling through developing countries and outback, you may find yourself surrounded by rubbish anywhere you go, set example and dispose yours in the most proper space
- Keep the rubbish away from rivers, beaches, parks, streets, etc
- Recycle
- Support local people by supporting their businesses and culture
